It's Been Almost 2 Weeks

I know it looks like I haven't kept up with my posting, but life got in the way.

Almost two weeks ago I got an unexpected phone call about a close relative who was in the hospital and not expected to live. They didn't and I barely got there in time to say goodby. Then there was the funeral and all the other things that go on when this happens.

Don't take this the wrong way, this is the first time I faced something like this and it is very disrupting. I had to take time off from work, use vacation time since it was so long. I had to worry about getting my bills paid while I was in a distant city. I had to worry about way too much on top of worrying about my Dad. Selfishly, I wished I was farther along in my investing. I thought back to the discussions I had with Tim about dealing with the unexpected. I know fully understand what he was saying.

Unexpected things happen. Sometimes we just want to put our whole lives on hold for a few days or a couple of weeks. Yet, most are like me and not able to do that financially.

I get it. I understand.

This is going to be a catchup week for me. I return to my job tomorrow and know I am way behind. I will be spending most of my time at work trying to catch up. That is fine because it will help keep my mind off of other things. But, by the end of this week, I will be back on track and thankfully Tim is patient and understanding.

I now know more than ever how important this is for me.
